Former Super Eagles forward, Julius Aghahowa has said that Senegal’s failure to convert their chances cost them against Netherlands.
The Terangha Lions lost their opening game at the 2022 FIFA World Cup 2-0 against the Orange on Monday night.
Aliou Cisse’s missed a number of chances in the game.
Cody Gakpo and substitute Davy Klaassen scored two late goals for the Dutch in the keenly contested encounter.
“Senegal played very well but missed their scoring chances especially in the first half,” Aghahowa told Brila FM.
“The Netherlands had only two and took their chances. That was the punishment for those missed chances.
“They (Senegal) gave a good account of themselves but The Netherland were more clinical,”
The Terangha Lions of Senegal will face hosts Qatar in their next game on Friday.
