France U-20 Women’s head coach, Sonia Haziraj has said her team must be at their best against Nigeria’s Falconets on Thursday, reports Pnosports.com.
The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will kick-off in Costa Rica on Wednesday (today) with the Group C encounter between France and Nigeria one of the mouth watering fixtures to look up to.
The Bleuettes and Falconets will clash at the Estadio Nacional, San Jose.
Haziraj’s side recently defeated Ghana 4-0 in a pre-tournament friendly, but she is expecting a more difficult test against Chris Danjuma’s girls.
“I’m extremely wary of Nigeria. I have massive respect for the African game and Nigeria have a number of players who possess real quality,” Haziraj told fifa.com.
“The Nigerians always get out of their group at the youth tournaments. I’ve watched them and they’re a well-drilled, hard-working side.
“They have great pace and are very athletic, and we’ll have to be ready to match them in that respect.”
The Falconets who were knocked out at the quarter-final stage at the last edition of the competition have been runners-up twice.
