Opeyemi Ajakaye has been named Player of the Match following Flamingos’ 2-1 win against Chile on Monday, reports PNO Sports.
It was Ajakaye’s second in consecutive matches in the tournament.
The striker, who was Nigeria’s top scorer during the qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup set up Blessing Emmanuel for her side’s opening goal in the fourth minute.
The 16-year-old came close to registering a goal in the 75th minute but her effort hit the crossbar.
She is yet to register a goal for the Flamingos in the competition, PNO Sports reports.
The Nigerian girls finished second in Group B with six points behind Germany, who sit at the summit with nine points.
