Semi Ajayi

Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi has returned to light training after a two-month injury layoff.

New West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has stated that the defender might even be available to him for selection before the forthcoming international break.

Ajayi sustained a knee injury in West Brom’s clash against Wigan Athletic in August.

Albion haven’t seen Ajayi since August with various set-backs, and have desperately missed Ajayi, who has been absent since Wigan when he suffered ankle ligament damage, especially the pace and athleticism he brings to the back-line.

“Monday for example this group of players were training individually with our assistants, separately from the group,” Corberan told reporters.

“They are in the last step of their recoveries, that’s why the physical and medical department moved the players to work with the assistant coaches.

“They were doing more specific football work, something they couldn’t do before. It means that in a short time that we can add more numbers and more possibilities to the squad.

“I think so, I think so [they could be available in these final three games before the break]. If everyone progresses how they are doing, before the international break we can have some of these players.”
