Captain Kalidou Koulibaly was the hero as the Terangha Lions of Senegal reached the last of the World Cup with a 2-1 win against Ecuador.
Ecuador, who started the competition with a win against hosts Qatar will now head back home following the defeat.
Senegal dominated the game in the first half but were let down by their poor marksmanship.
The African champions went into the break with a 1-0 lead courtesy of Ismaila Sarr strike from the spot.
Sarr was fouled in the area before confidently beating Hernan Galindez from 12 yards.
Moises Caicedo briefly gave Ecuador hope midway through the second period slotting home from close range.
Koulibaly however scored the winning goal 12 minutes from time.
Senegal finished second in Group A behind the Netherlands.
