Morocco earned a shocking 2-0 win against Belgium at the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, reports PNO Sports.
The Atlas Lions, who were held to a 0-0 draw by Croatia in their first game in the competition dominated proceedings in the encounter.
Morocco were denied a goal on the stroke of half-time when Hakim Ziyech’s free-kick nestled in the back of the net, only to be ruled out by a lengthy VAR review, which judged that Romain Saiss was in an offside position and blocking the eye-line of Courtois, despite not touching the ball.
Substitute Abdelhamid Sabiri gave Morocco the lead in the 73rd minute from a clever free-kick.
Another substitute Zakaria Aboukhlal raced onto Ziyech’s through ball to seal the win in second-half stoppage time.
