Mohamed Kudus was the hero as the Black Stars of Ghana defeated South Korea 3-2 in a pulsating Group H clash at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, reports PNO Sports.
Mohammed Salisu gave Ghana the lead against the run of play after a goalmouth scramble in the 24th minute.
Kudus doubled the advantage on 34 minutes with a superb header after a beautifully delivered Jordan Ayew cross from the left-hand side.
The Black Stars protected their lead for the remaining part of the first half.
South Korea however rallied back after the break.
Cho Gue Song scored two quick-fire headers to bring South Korea back on level terms around the hour-mark.
Kudus added his second of the game in the 68th minute with a well-taken finish to make it 3-2.
Ghana’s first win of the tournament means they are in control of their own destiny in terms of qualifying for the knockout stages heading into their last match against Uruguay on Friday
