Cameroon native, Breel Embolo scored the only goal as Switzerland defeated the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 1-0 in a cagey affair on Thursday.

Embolo was born in Cameroon’s capital Yaounde, lived in France, but later relocated to Switzerland.

The forward received Swiss citizenship in 2014.

He rounded off a free flowing move three minutes after the break, sweeping home a low cross from Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Indomitable Lions, who wasted a number of chances in the first half were unable to find a way back in the game.

Rigobert Song’s side will confront Serbia in their next game on Monday, November 28.

They will round up their group stage campaign four days later against Brazil.
