Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro may vacate the post due to the failure of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay his salary regularly, reports PNO Sports.

Peseiro has not received his salary for the past six months.

The 62-year-old tactician is now being owed $420,000 in total by the NFF.

The former Saudi Arabia coach was appointed in May 2022 on a monthly pay of $70,000.

According to respected  journalist, Osasu Obayiwana, who was a former member of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), anti- racism task force, Peseiro has not been paid for the last six month.

Peseiro, according to the former BBC reporter has already complained to FIFA about his unpaid wages.

Under current FIFA  laws, the former Porto coach can unilaterally terminate his contract, without prejudice, and will have to be paid in full.

The NFF are currently paying off the backlog of outstanding salaries of former Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr after unilaterally terminating his contract last December.
