Henry Onyekuru has expressed confidence he could again be a champion in Turkey after his club Adana Demirspor continued their impressive run in the Super Lig at the weekend.
Onyekuru, who first won the Turkish championship with Galatasaray in the 2018/19 season, scored one of the goals in a 4-1 win at Kasimpasa for Adana Demirspor to stay top of the table with 21 points from 10 matches.
PNO Sports reports that the 25-year-old forward, who has so far scored three goals, said his target has been to win the Turkish Super Lig with Adana Demirspor.
“As a player, you have the target to win the championship in your mind,” he told Fotomac.
“After learning about the club’s wishes, goals and objectives, I made the decision to come here very easily. I wanted to contribute to my team with goals and assists.
“We look at the league race match by match. Of course, we always have the championship target and our ambition.
“However, we can never know how this will turn out. We have a very good coach and president here.
“There is also a very important team and Adana is a beautiful city to live in.”
