Former Super Eagles captain, Austine Okocha believes the Terangha Lions of Senegal are Africa’s best hope at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, reports PNO Sports.
Aliou Cisse’s side head into the competition as African champions and have a number of quality players in their ranks.
Ghana, Cameroon, Morocco and Tunisia are the other teams from the continent that will compete at the competition.
Senegal will be without their talismanic forward, Sadio Mane in the competition.
Mane is ruled out of the competition as result of injury, but Okocha stated that even without the Bayern Munich star, Senegal still have the best chance to go past the first round of Qatar 2022.
“They are the reigning African champions and are also ranked No 1 in Africa by FIFA,” he said on Super Sport TV.
“They are a solid team and should be the African team to go the farthest in Qatar.”
