Plateau United now look good to secure a berth in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after beating Al Akhdar of Libya 4-1 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja on Wednesday, PNO Sports reports.
The Jos club put up a fine performance in the playoff round first leg contest watched by a scanty crowd.
Prolific forward, Mustapha Yuga gave the home team the lead on 27 minutes nodding home from close range.
The Jos club missed a number of chances afterwards.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side doubled their lead four minutes before the break through Ifeanyi Emmanuel.
Emmanuel slotted the ball home following a superb cross from Haggai Katoh.
Hilary had the ball inside the net eight minutes after the break but the goal was ruled out for offside.
The striker finally got his goal with an acrobatic finish 15 minutes from time.
The visitors pulled a goal back in the 85th minute.
Hilary however Plateau United’s three- goal lead deep into stoppage time.
The reverse fixture will take place next week Wednesday in Benghazi.
