Cody Gakpo and substitute Davy Klaassen scored two late goals as Netherlands beat Senegal 2-0 in their opening Group A match of the 2022 World Cup, reports PNO Sports.
Gakpo nodded home Frenkie de Jong’s cross five minutes from time.
Klaassen then tapped home to seal the win deep into injury time.
The Terangha Lions of Senegal will face hosts Qatar in their next game on Friday.
Netherlands will do battle with Ecuador same day.
Two other African countries will be in action on Tuesday.
Tunisia will keep a date with Denmark, while Morocco will slug it out with Croatia.
