Ese Brume

Ese Brume has claimed Gold medal in the Women’s Long Jump event at the  2022 Commonwealth Games, reports Pnosports.com.

Brume, who came under intense pressure from Ghana’s Deborah Acquah leaped to a new Commonwealth Games record of 6.99m to clinch first position.

The 26-year-old  also won gold medal in the Long Jump event four years ago in Gold Coast, Australia.

Her compatriot, Ruth Usoro finishes sixth with a jump of 6.56m.

Brume   recently won Silver medal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States of America.

It was  Team Nigeria’s 12th Gold medal at the Games, their biggest haul in history.

Team Nigeria won 11 Gold medals in 1994 (Victoria), 2010 (New Delhi)  and 2014 (Glasgow).
